Kaiako - Ruma Iwa

Kia ora e te whānau,

My name is Sarah Richardson, and I’m really looking forward to joining Don Buck School and working with our Year 7–8 tamariki next year. I’m passionate about creating a classroom where everyone feels safe, respected, and confident to be themselves. Building strong relationships is at the heart of my teaching, I believe students learn best when they know their teacher believes in them.

I value curiosity, kindness, and the courage to make mistakes. In our class, learning is about giving things a go, taking risks, and using mistakes as opportunities to grow. I love helping students challenge themselves and discover new strengths. You can expect a learning environment that is calm, supportive, structured, and full of opportunities to think deeply, ask questions, and grow.

Outside of school, I enjoy reading, going to the gym, gardening, spending time with my whānau, and trying new recipes.

I’m excited to get to know you all and to start a positive, productive year together.
