Terensha Fernandes

Kaiako - Ruma Waru

Kia ora!! I am Miss Fernandes, and I am so excited to be joining the DBSl whānau.

My whānau comes from India, and my cultural background is a big part of who I am. I was born in Mumbai, and when I was two, my family and I moved to Aotearoa. Ever since then, Tāmaki Makaurau, especially West Auckland, has been my home. I love the cultural pride, the enthusiasm, and the strong sense of community here. These values shape who I am both inside and outside the classroom.

In our classroom, I want all tamariki to feel proud of who they are and their uniqueness.  Your personality, your interests, your culture, your stories — these are your strengths, and nobody else in the world has this same uniqueness.

I can’t wait to learn, thrive, and grow with you all and begin this exciting journey together next year.
